Sclerotherapy - Varicose and Spider Vein Treatment
There are a wide variety of treatments being developed today for both spider veins and varicose veins. Most of these treatments are appropriate for the treatment of only one or the other, but that’s not always the case. Sclerotherapy is a treatment that involves the injection of a specialized solution into the vain in order to close the vein causing a collapse. Smaller varicose veins may benefit from sclerotherapy, which can also be used on spider veins with a great deal of success. However, some larger varicose veins cannot be treated with this procedure, because there is a limit to the size of the vein. For these cases of varicose veins we usually recommend endovenous laser ablation. You can learn more about how sclerotherapy works below.
Why Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is widely considered as one of the best treatments for small varicose veins and spider veins. The treatment is minimally invasive and can also help to improve symptoms such as aching, swelling, burning, and night cramps. Treated veins tend to fade within a few weeks, although occasionally it may take up to a month to see full results. In some cases it may take sever treatments to fully clear any veins.
Most important is your health, and Sclerotherapy is able to resolve problems like Swelling, Cramps, and aches.

How Long Is The Sclerotherapy Recovery Period?
The recovery period after sclerotherapy is usually quite short, with most people resuming all of their normal activities within a couple of days. There are cases however, where it can take longer to recover. For example, people who have very physically demanding jobs will generally need to spend more time recovering before returning to work. How long it takes to recover can also depend on how many veins were treated and the size of those veins, as a larger treatment area with bigger veins will require more recovery time than only one or two much smaller veins. Recovery is not difficult, and does not require much more than some rest and a careful following of your doctor’s instructions.
Also something to note, is that it is recommended that one does not return to any sort of strenuous exercise for at least 2 weeks after the procedure is completed to ensure proper healing
